asked:

My concrete, above ground fish pond/fountain is built on a solid concrete floor and concrete blocks with some sort of coating (I do not know if it is gunite or concrete). Since the pond was built it has had slow, drizzling leaks onto my patio. I have become confused on the best way to repair the leaks. I tried some type f asphalt roof coating, which did not work and have had to spend many hours of labor and several $’s in paint remover to remove the coating.
I found a websites that advertise Sani-tred pool coating, another advertising pool paint, another advertising Ultra Poly One Coat, another for Aqua-Plex, another for PVC liner, fiberglass, etc.
Does anybody have any suggestions for the best way for me to fix the leaks? The pond/fountain is 3 years old and has no visible cracks. It is 8′ x 8′ x 1.5′

Thank you.

Leisha

R3 asked:

Hi, I have a concrete pond which is brick built on the outside and has a 3 inch concrete layer on the inside. The inside of the pond is then coated with a one inch plaster and then sealed with pond sealant paint. I’ve not had a problem with the pond until now – been fine for over 5 years. The outside of the pond is now leaking water through the brick mortar joint. Luckily it is only around the joint of a single brick but the water seepage is heavy. I have a lot of large Koi in the pond hence want to repair the pond as soon as possible. Is there anyway of sealing the pond at the point of seepage without removing the water? The water seepage is continuous so I need something which will act fast and dry quickly. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I can ultimately allow the water to leak out up until the point it stops however I am concerned that the issue will develop into a serious leak if not resolved asap. The pond is located in Coventry, UK.

Tamqrah
