Can you paint a Butyl liner?

I have a butyl liner in my pond which is black. My son wants to change it into a splash pool, and I was wondering if you can paint the liner? Are there any paints that adhere to butyl liners?

    For colored liner or plastic material that would look for colored liner or plastic material that you could use in place of the black liner or plastic material that would look for colored liner.
