What fish can I get in a shallow pond?

I recently moved into a house with a big pond which holds about 5000-6000 liters but it is only 40cm deep. I am not sure if the last owners kept fish in there as it is brightly painted with waterproof paint. It is an actual pond but I’m not sure for fish. I would like to dig deeper and use liner but I cant as it is a brick / cement pond and we cant make major changed to it but a few plants. We also cant raise it.

Koi or gold fish or just about any fish you want as long as you can keep the water aerated and the temperature where it needs to be. The koi or gold fish will not take as much aeration but if you live where you have a long cold winter you will have to keep it warm.
There are several kinds of fish that can be used in your case. Like koi, shubunkins, and comets. These fish all really good in shallow ponds.
An pump to provide air in shallow ponds they are great in the pond but pets stores should have everything you need including food.
An algae bloom that can be avoided if you prepare below are sufficient for adding fish like the first and aeration warm water holds less oxygen than cold water lillies while the pool was made.
gold fish they will do great
