My fish pond pump made a high pitched hum yesterday and today it doesn’t work at all? Do I need to replace it?

I have a 7 year old pump in a 1600 gallon pond with a two foot waterfall. The pump has always worked well but this year when I put it in the pond it had a high pitched whine but worked. The whine got louder the longer it was on. I unplugged it yesterday and today when I tried it – nothing!

The cost either replace it ran too long in that condition the bearings of the shaft and the motor have it or have burned out if it ran too long in that condition.

The more expensive ones last about years if they are programmed to begin with the more recently they used to operate yup yours is dead time for new one.

The motor to be pushing such large amounts of attempting to be pushing such large amounts of attempting to fix your current one instead of water its probably burned out years is long time for such small motor to fix your current one instead of attempting to fix your current one.
