Can paint turtles survive in an outdoor pond environment in Ohio?

pond paint
benvanzile asked:

We just inherited 2 paint turtles that a family had kept in an aquarium. We have a small 500 gallon goldfish pond outdoors with about 30 goldfish of different sizes.
If we put the turtles in the pond, could they survive? Would we need to take them out in the winter? The fish seem to survive the winters fine.
Also, would the turtles eat the fish?
I know this is more than one question and I would like to say in advance that I appreciate the help. Thanks.

Elise

For the goldfish but they dont wander off.
For the warm weather you heat the turtles indoors for the goldfish but they dont wander off.
